Off the Eaten Path
Halifax Asian Food Festival Edition
Off the Eaten Path is an International & multicultural Food Festival integrating Nova Scotia’s diverse and growing population. It’s a full weekend celebration showcasing our province’s multi-cultural fabric.
The first ever Halifax Asian Food Festival is Initiated by Maritime Wave Association, organized in partnership with Lumi Studios Media, Spring Garden Area Business Association (SGABA) and Downtown Halifax Business Commission. The festival will kick off its first round of celebration at the end of this October!
Off the Eaten Path will increase public awareness of immigration as we present different tastes that will reflect how Nova Scotia houses and celebrates rich and diverse cultures. This community-centric approach to the food festival will help nurture and grow inclusion amongst our district’s complex and diverse Asian communities by highlighting local authentic Asian cuisine. This is important as it will collectively lead us to:
Support newcomer families transitioning to NS
Develop new relationships with community-based groups in NS
Increased public awareness and understanding of immigration and diversity
Encourage public engagement in immigration
Increased community capacity to engage in immigration
Increased retention of immigrant newcomers
More inclusive communities
